football columnist since '96. Fantasy Football consultant for
ESPN2's NFL2Night "fantasy focus." Past/current contributor
to Fantasy Football Pro Forecast, Fantasy Football Index, the
Draftbook, Fantasy Sports magazine, and some other rag I don't
want to mention. Plus, a bunch of other stuff.
Favorite NFL team:
Minnesota Vikings - why? Well, I'm Norwegian and I loved hearing
Howard Cosell saying "Fran Tar-ken-ton to Ah-mad-Ra-shaad"
during
the MNF halftime highlights when I was a kid. I was at the Metrodome
for the '98 NFC Championship game and it was absolute torture.
I'm ready for them to cut the entire team and start all over
again.
Assorted fantasy football
stuff:
 First player drafted: Walter Payton.
Best player drafted: Dalton Hilliard
(I think it was in '89.he was a total nobody before the season,
but ended being the fantasy player of the year with 18 TD's.
Best season: 15-2 ('96) and 14-2
('97 in FanEx).
Many fantasy football championships
including FanEx in 1997 and 1999. I've been playing fantasy football
for damn near half my life.
Other stuff:
Favorite movies: Clerks and Austin
Powers are up there. Dr. Evil from Austin Powers is my role model.
Favorite band: FOO FIGHTERS
Pet Peeve: People who take fantasy
football too seriously and have big egos about the game. I've
seen fantasy football "Experts" who have bigger egos
than the athletes themselves do, which is a joke. Fantasy football
is basically my life, but I also realize that, to many intelligent
and knowledgeable sports industry veterans, we're a bunch of
geeks.
